Meet Me!

Hi! My name is Brittany and I am a seventh grade ELA teacher in Pennsylvania. I am an avid reader and writer and believe the best learning comes from strong relationships and student engagement. I absolutely love teaching and (to most unpopular opinions) I absolutely LOVE middle school!

Before teaching seventh grade, I have previously taught ninth, eighth, and sixth grade. Seventh grade is a good fit for me – I love the age-group and the content. My favorite things to teach in school are novels and short stories. Some of my favorites are The Outsiders, To Kill a Mockingbird, and anything Edgar Allan Poe.

In addition to teaching, I also coach lacrosse. Lacrosse was a very big part of my life when I was in high school and I love that I am able to continue my love for the sport through coaching. Spring is my favorite season because of lacrosse, the weather, and the energy of the school year at that time.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my friends and family, reading, taking a spin class, watching The Bachelor, and trying new restaurants. In the winter, I love to go snowboarding and I love a good snow day. In the summer, I spend as much time as I can down the shore. I would live at the beach every single summer if I could.

My main goal for starting this blog is to share ideas and connect with other teachers. I learn a lot from reading other teachers blogs and I wanted to start my own! Hopefully, some of the things that I do in my room work for you and your students as well!
